NPR Music and globalFEST showcased the 2021 edition of globalFEST through the virtual event "Tiny Desk Meets globalFEST" featuring 16 artists hosted by Angélique Kidjo. Among the performers was Elisapie, a Canadian Inuk musician known for advocating First Nations culture. Elisapie's powerful and emotive vocals lit up the virtual stage, emphasizing her dedication to her heritage. Hailing from Salluit, Nunavik, Quebec, Elisapie moved to Montreal in 1999 to pursue communication studies and has since become known for her work in music, broadcasting, documentary filmmaking, activism, and acting. Her performance was a highlight of the festival, showcasing her incredible energy and talent.
