Tiny Desk is currently celebrating Latinx Heritage Month with an El Tiny takeover, showcasing musicians like Jessie Reyez and Girl Ultra. As part of this celebration, Susana Baca recently performed at the Babel library and bookstore in Lima, Peru. Accompanied by her band, Baca's performance included the percussive "Molino Molero" and the ethereal "Dämmerung," showcasing her clarion voice and blending music with her surroundings. Susana Baca, a prominent Peruvian singer-songwriter, school teacher, folklorist, and ethnomusicologist, has won three Latin Grammy Awards and played a vital role in reviving Afro-Peruvian music. In 2011, she made history by becoming Peru's Minister of Culture and later served as the President of the Commission of Culture for the Organization of American States.
