In celebration of Black Music Month, Tiny Desk spotlighted nine Black women artists, including the legendary girl group SWV. Renowned for their influence over the past three decades, SWV – comprised of Cheryl (Coko) Gamble, Tamara (Taj) George, and Leanne (Lelee) Lyons – captivated the audience with hits like "Weak," "Right Here (Human Nature Remix)," and "I'm So into You." Formed in 1988 as a gospel group, SWV became one of the most successful R&B groups of the 1990s before disbanding in 1998 and reuniting in 2005. The Tiny Desk concert showcased the trio's timeless talent, culminating in a memorable sing-along moment during "I'm So Into You" that left both the artists and the audience in awe. The event not only honored SWV's legacy but also underscored the influential contributions of Black women in music.
