Mucca Pazza, a 23-member interdisciplinary instrumental music and performance ensemble based in Chicago, made a memorable appearance at the Tiny Desk concert series. The performance, one of the biggest in Tiny Desk history, featured a wide array of instruments including trombones, saxophones, trumpets, woodwinds, and more, alongside cheerleaders. They performed songs from their album L.Y.A., showcasing a sound that references American marching band and big band traditions, Middle Eastern music, California surf, Ennio Morricone, and 50s television show themes. Mucca Pazza's energetic performances and mismatched marching band uniforms added to the lively atmosphere. With a background in physical theater, the band has released several albums since their debut in 2006, with notable placements of their music in TV shows like Showtime's Weeds and Amazon's Transparent.
