Singer Monica Martin, known for her work with the band Phox, recently graced the Tiny Desk stage with pianist and songwriter Jeremy Larson for a heartfelt performance. This collaboration, part of Larson's project Violents, showcased their soulful record "Awake And Pretty Much Sober," with Larson's classical training adding depth to the music. The duo's chemistry was evident, leading to a full-length album - a departure from Violents' usual EP collaborations with different singers. Phox, the indie pop band from Wisconsin where Martin previously sang, released their self-titled debut album in 2014 and remained active until 2017.
